  • 1.  What book(s) are you bringing to the beach?

    In past summers, ASCE has sought to entertain by providing recommended books for the civil engineer vacationer! You can check out this years list here. With the holiday weekend fast approaching and travel restrictions lifting, I wanted to start a thread for you to share the books you will be enjoying this summer. Please share you recommendations below.

    Well, here it is September and beach season is winding down.  I read No One Had a Tongue to Speak by Utpal Sandesara and Tom Wooten.  It's about a largely forgotten 1979 dam failure which killed 25,000 persons by some estimates.  Nonfiction, but nicely written and engaging like a novel.
