I'm an interdisciplinary environmental scientist with a focus on hydrology and am interested in using the earth's natural resources as a way to manage our water resources and improve water quality. My work ranges from small scale (lab or point of use) to large scale (plot to regional scale). For example, I've developed and tested engineered materials improve stormwater runoff quality for use in a structural best management practice by removing heavy metals, nutrients, organic contaminants, and microorganisms. Currently I am investigating urban soils and their applicability in green infrastructure with a focus on stormwater management, contaminant retention, and other ecosystem services.
