BENJAMIN OSITA OKOH, C.ENG, P.E., R.ENG, F.ASCE
BEN OSY OKOH is the Managing Director/CEO of FieldMarshal Integrated Engineering Concept Limited. He attended Artisan Quarters Primary School Asata, Enugu and Urban Boys’ Secondary School Enugu for his primary and secondary education respectively. He gained admission into the Department of Civil Engineering, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, where he distinguished himself academically, morally, socially, politically and in every conceivable parameter. He graduated in 2004 with Second Class Honours Upper Division in Civil Engineering.
While waiting for his call up for the National Youth Service Scheme, Ben Osy Okoh worked briefly with Diyokes Consultants Enugu as an Engineer Trainee.
He began his distinctive engineering career (after his NYSC at Funtua in Katsina State) with Bulet International Nig. Ltd. in 2006, and was involved in the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters Abuja and Phase 2 of Head of Service Building Abuja. He supervised Christabel Private School, Wuye Abuja, before joining Units Environmental Services Limited Abuja as a Structural Engineer, and in 2009, he joined FieldMarshal Integrated Engineering Concept Limited.
Ben Osy Okoh has displayed extensive ingenuity in his professional practice, and has designed over 100 buildings across the country. Some of the structures that attest to his prolific engineering prowess are –

He joined the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as a Student Member in 2002. As a student member, Ben Osy Okoh referred over 100 students to ASCE and was among the top 10 in the ASCE Referral Competition. As a member, he has referred over 30 engineers to ASCE.
He is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE); a member of the Nigerian Institution of Civil of Engineers (NICE); a member of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE); a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE); a member of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), and a Registered Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Ben Osy Okoh is an unusual personality of multiple and variegated credentials. His love for the engineering profession is simply incontrovertible, and he has demonstrated it by his irrepressible quest for creativity and excellence which has endeared him to many people. His achievements and antecedents in all the facets of the profession he has borne responsibilities, are testaments to his visionary and undiluted commitment to the cause of the profession.

As Technical Secretary of NICE Abuja Chapter, he introduced the free weekend lectures which have been enshrined in the activities of the Chapter as one of its key programmes. He also organized over 18 Technical Presentations and many technical visits.
As Technical Secretary of NSE Abuja Branch, he organized 14 local technical visits and 3 international technical visits to Brazil, USA, and Singapore. He published 14 Newsletters and organized 19 Technical Presentations which were held in every General Meeting of the Branch. He also organized trainings and workshops including a two-day free workshop on bridge design, construction, and maintenance with a world renowned bridge expert – Prof. Carlos Henrique Siqueira of CCR Ponte Brazil as the resource person. Abuja Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers also took the first position for the first time in the Group Dynamics Competition. As the Publicity Secretary of NSE Abuja Branch, he rebranded and positioned the Branch to a very enviable height in the comity of branches. The Branch also took the first position for the first time (back to back) in the Welfare Competition.
As Chairman of NICE Abuja Chapter, he took the Chapter to an enviable height. The Chapter published 20 E-Newsletters and One Newsletter Magazine. The Chapter did several trainings, workshops, and technical presentations. Under his leadership, the Chapter launched a website and organized two major conferences. The Chapter also trained many young engineers and secured Industrial Training placements for 21 Students of the University of Abuja, and jobs for some unemployed members.
For the first time in the history of the Chapter, it published a Calendar in 2017, and another edition in 2018. The Chapter also held an awareness campaign AGAINST THE ABUSE AND VANDALISM OF INFRASTRUCTURES IN THE FCT and had series of interactive networking with stakeholders and participants in the profession and the industry through series of courtesy visits.
He also introduced the STRATEGIC MENTORING INITIATIVE AND LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE (SMILE), a leadership lecture series for building purpose driven leaders who can institutionalize excellence in NICE leadership systems, drive breakthrough innovation, and secure a competitive edge for our profession and our nation.

Engr. Ben-Osy Okoh is a composite engineer, a human right defender, and a prolific writer. Most of his writings have been read on radio as news commentaries and published on many national and international newspapers, magazines and social networks. Since the past eight years, he has trained over 1500 engineers on the application of Computer Aided Designs in structural and civil engineering. He has also presented many technical papers at different engineering fora and has moderated many high-profile functions as the Director of Programmes.
