Bio

William A. (Bill) Wallace is a recognized leader in the field of sustainability, serving on several national and international professional society committees, and operating a successful consulting practice in sustainable engineering. His book, Becoming Part of the Solution: The Engineer’s Guide to Sustainable Development, has been a “best seller” for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Bill is the primary designer for the Envision™ sustainable infrastructure rating system, sponsored by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. For this work, Bill has been recognized by Engineering News-Record as a "Top 25 Newsmaker for 2013", and was awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) President's Medal for 2014. He has also been nominated by ASCE for the U.S. National Medal for Technology and Innovation.

Bill is also an instructor for the University of Florida’s Electronic Delivery of Graduate Engineering (EDGE) program, teaching “Green Engineering Design and Sustainability.” This is a “gateway” course leading to the University's Sustainable Engineering Certificate. Bill has also designed and delivered the on-line ISI accreditation courses for Envision™ Sustainability Professionals (ENV SP) and Envision™ Verifiers. He also designed and delivered the on-line ASCE sustainable engineering certificate course, "Engineering for a Sustainable Future".

Bill is a member of the Board of Directors of GeoEngineers, Inc.
