Thanks, Reza, I've not encountered the use of structural stainless steel for lateral resisting systems under FEMA. Do you happen to know of any? Thank you.

Have you reviewed the FEMA regulations?

The use of stainless steel members for industrial use is common place.
AISC Design Guide 27 (DG27) addresses the use of stainless steel for gravity applications. However, the use of stainless steel material for lateral / seismic force resisting systems (SFRS) is outside the scope of DG27.
AISC 341 Seismic Provision does not list stainless steel as an acceptable material for use with SFRS, under specification section A3.1
Is there any resource available that addresses the use of structural stainless steel for lateral / seismic force resisting system? If available, please provide resource information / title.
Thank you.
