your quest for knowledge advances, interchangeable events foresights the inevitable, as demands for high levels performances on Building Infrastructure and Sustainability can extremely overload our practices. The result maybe be the creation of a new profession for us a near soon (or a fused Engineer), or others that will come. Times where the entire ASCE (in my view) need to invest in long term Initiatives and Activities ACTs, and can shape a new "Innovative Future Industry".

But your efforts to understand an navigate towards other areas is always good, because you can always continuing to see more in advance.

As a T-shaped Structural Engineer, you don't need to be confined just to ordinarily structural design and construction of structures, but being behind the scenes by observing the multidisciplinary work and alignment within other professionals, professions and fields.

As Jack Buckwalter was talking about the "merging functions/considerations", during SEI STRUCTURES VIRTUAL 2021.  Should all we together trying to advance our profession by considering the maximum possibilities always so?

The Creation of Future Civil Systems Engineers:

"A high quality engineer with the skills and experience to deliver a total system of systems solution"

The major points are: I-Evaluate Complex Systems, II-Perform Analysis and III-Convert into solutions

You can imagine for what 9 institutes could be potentially created for

    Reimagine yourself... =)
