The NCSEA SE3 Committee launched its 2020 Survey on April 13. This is the third nationwide survey of structural engineers administered by the committee, and we encourage all to participate. https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5536448/The-2020-SE3-Survey

This year's survey includes new questions about recruitment and retention, work flexibility before and after COVID, the impact of parental leave and more. We are always open to feedback, so if you have comments or suggestions, please post here, or email us at se3@...

To encourage discussion on this message board, I'd like to share some initial results from the 2,000 responses we have received so far. 92% of respondents are currently working from home due to COVID-19. 70% of those same respondents indicate they "never" or "rarely" worked remotely prior to COVID-19. When asked if their opinion of remote work and its efficacy is better or worse than before, about 40% said "better", 20% said "worse" and 40% said "the same".

Does this data resonate with your current work experience? Looking forward to seeing and sharing more in the weeks and months to come!

I fall into the 40% "the same" category, but I have been working from home for some time prior to COVID.

Curious to hear what others think, and how those opinions might change the longer we work from home.
