    Hello everyone. Since a long time ago I'm looking for papers, studies and references of how does the roof live loads established in the ASCE 7-16 were determined or calculated.

    Can anyone help me with this issue?

    You can find a good explanation in the Commentary of ASCE 7 along with many references. Please also look in the Civil Engineering Database and the ASCE Library.

    In addition to what Tirza has recommended, you may also think of consulting a 2019 Wiley book (Wind Effects on Structures: Modern Structural Design for Wind, 4th Ed, 2019, Wiley).

    Back in June 2019, there were several pieces of discussions on wind load under: Hurricane Wind on Structures. You may also have a look at them as well.
