Amid coronavirus outbreak, Chinese civil engineers responded and took the challenge by calmly building one of two – 1,000 bed emergency hospital in just 10 days at Wuhan. Assembling of prefab units and modules of the 269,000 square feet hospital in rapid sequence of logistical and construction management is a laudable example of civil engineering feat.

Hope the hospitals in their temporary capacities would function well to treat the patients and contain the virus. And we congratulate the courage and resilience of Chinese people and engineers in rising to the occasion.
