The Clean Water Act and Waters of the US - What Now?

Andrew Der will give a cursory overview of the basis of the Clean Water Act and past and current legislation regarding how it applies to establishing the limits of Waters of the Unites States, including wetlands, in the context of construction projects and some permitting considerations - including determining extent of jurisdictional impact, application review process, and interagency coordination.
About the Speaker: Andrew T. Der, an Academy of Board Certified Environmental Professionals Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), is the executive principle of Andrew T. Der & Associates, LLC., with a total of 33 years of experience (20 as a manager) working within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Prior to that, and since 2000, he was Director of Environmental Services for two civil engineering firms in the Washington DC/Baltimore, MD metro region, and previously completed 18 years of service at the Maryland Department of the Environment leaving as a manager in the Wetlands and Waterways Program. His experience includes regulation and compliance; assessment; watershed and feasibility studies; advocacy; nonpoint source pollution, wetland, forest, and stream mitigation/restoration management; and water quality compliance. Mr. Der also teaches seminars, publishes industry-related articles, an appointed member of industry and advisory committees, and provides expert testimony.
