Virtual Coordination Center for Multimodal Integrated Corridor Management (VCC)
With rapidly growing populations across so many of our metro areas the increased need to manage traffic congestion and operation responses must be a coordinated effort across many organizations. The need to partner, collaborate and communicate is vital. Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is part of one such partnership, The Virtual Coordination Center for Multimodal Integrated Corridor Management (VCC).
The VCC is a cloud-based system that enables real-time data sharing and coordinated response to quickly clear roadway incidents and reduce congestion. The VCC will pull in real-time data from eight public agencies responsible for transportation management in the greater Seattle area. The data is shared in a common dashboard that allows responders across all agencies to see incidents as they happen, make more informed decisions, collaborate in real time to coordinate response, and distribute a unified public message.
Join us for closer look at the development, implementation, and current operation of the VCC with our guest Travis Phelps, Mobility and Technology Manager at Washington State Department of Transportation as he leads our next Virtual-Cutting Edge Technology Tour.
