The evolving future of manufacturing in South Carolina - Electric Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence, and higher education's response to the evolving engineering requirements.

Don joined USC Upstate in 2024 as Executive in Residence and Distinguished Professor of Practice.  In this role, Don is supporting the launch of their new undergraduate engineering programs, advising the school of business, increasing connections with industry, and providing support for students interested in business and leadership.

Prior to joining USC Upstate, Don was Chief Operating Officer for Oshkosh Defense, where he was responsible for all manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and mergers and acquisitions.  He led the construction of the new EV assembly facility in Spartanburg which is building the future postal delivery vehicles.  Oshkosh Defense is a leading manufacturer of military and commercial trucks.

Prior to his career at Oshkosh, Don held leadership positions at Amcor Packaging, BorgWarner, and General Motors.  He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Manufacturing Management, both from Kettering University.
