Construction Inspection 101
Presentation Topic:
The presentation will take you through a typical scenario, inspectors' assigned to transportation projects in Virginia face each day. Though complex in nature, we will break the scenario into specific sections, focusing on the decision-making process and the overall impact to stakeholder consideration, records management, multi-level coordination, public perception and overall impact. Throughout the presentation, you will learn the "How" and "Why" proper inspections are crucial to the success of the project.

About the Speakers:
Donald “DJ” Stover - ATCS Director, Construction Services Practice
DJ currently leads a staff of 50 individuals and has 29 years of experience in transportation projects with roles ranging from the Construction Manager, Deputy Project Manager and various inspection positions. Throughout his years of experience, he has led the Traffic Field Operations contract for NOVA District VDOT, Metro Washington Airport Authority’s Loudoun & Fairfax Metro Stations, and served as Construction Inspection Coordinator for Northern Virginia District of VDOT.
Sean Knick - ATCS Construction Manager
Sean currently leads a staff of 13 individuals and has 8 years of experience in transportation projects with roles ranging from the Construction Inspection Coordinator, Construction Engineer and Lead Environmental Compliance Inspector/Manager. Throughout his years of experience, he has led an environmental compliance team on the $3 Billion Dollar, I-66 Outside the Beltway Project, and led the VDOT construction inspection team for the Opitz Boulevard Mega-Project and served as the Construction Inspection Coordinator for the Fredericksburg District and Culpeper District of VDOT.
