Manifestation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the Civil Engineering Classroom

When:  Oct 28, 2021 from 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  ExCEEd Community Exchange
How does or how can diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) manifest itself in the civil engineering classroom?
Join and contribute toward a roundtable discussion on how civil engineering faculty have developed teaching practices that help transform the engineering landscape to be more welcoming of diverse perspectives and values. Whether it is modifying engineering problems to consider social contexts, adopting new instructional practices in the classroom and laboratory, or engaging with communities in service-learning efforts, engineering faculty are fostering a broader understanding of how engineering interacts with our increasingly diverse society. How are faculty supporting a generation of students who are increasingly challenging discriminatory social structures at every turn, including engineering practice? Join the discussion, exchange ideas, and learn from others at the ExCEEd Community Exchange (ECX)!
