ASCE Austin - November Branch Meeting
ASCE Austin is excited to host Jennifer Williams, Officer of Planning and Development at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport!
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is one of the fastest-growing airports in the United States. In response to this growth, AUS is expanding and modernizing! The airport is embarking on a series of near-term and long-term improvements including new facilities and expansion projects to serve generations of Austin and Central Texas travelers to come all while driving economic prosperity in our region.
Jennifer Williams has a passion for public service and has been working in local government since she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. She began her career with Charlotte’s Department of Transportation reviewing and approving land development plans and planning future transportation needs in the community. An opportunity for the City of Houston led her to implement a transportation safety program with FHWA funding to analyze intersection and roadway collisions. An eager ambition to broaden her career in 2012 led her to aviation in Austin Texas as a Planning and Development Project Manager for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to support roadway and pavement projects. Since then, she has led critical projects and developed meaningful community relationships to support AUS, including leading the AUS 2040 Master Plan development process. She is currently the Officer of Planning and Development managing a team of architects, engineers, and planners to provide strategic leadership to the Planning team and guide design standards development and implementation that will chart the course of our airport for generations to come. Last year, she was recognized by Airport Business Magazine as a “Top 40 Under 40” aviation leader and recently was selected to join the current cohort of the Leadership Austin Essential program.
In her “spare” time, she is a non-profit advocate in the community sitting on the board as treasurer for Junior League of Austin and supports many other agencies and programs throughout Central Texas. Aside from her professional and non-profit career, you’ll catch her spending time with her husband, Dane and 6 year old son, Cole doing anything and everything outdoors! They love wake-surfing, snowboarding, tennis, and NASCAR Youth Series Quarter-midget racing.
NOTE: Time is allotted for lunch beginning at 11:30 AM. The meeting and speaker presentation will begin around 12 PM. A short period for questions & answers is reserved prior to 1 PM.
