COVID-19 student chapter events

    Hello everyone,
As the president of Drexel University's student chapter and graduating senior, I'm less than thrilled about how my time in this student organisation is coming to and end.

On a happier note, we're hoping to use this pandemic as a way of reaching out to our surrounding student chapters in the Philadelphia areas and building new connections. We're hosting a virtual social with a few student chapters and give all our members a chance to meet other future civil engineers and leaders of our organisations.

Are any other students chapters still active virtually or doing anything similar?

    Hi Marina,

I am representing the student chapter at the University of Texas at Tyler as the Vice President. My chapter is still active. We are planning on hosting our speakers and events either through zoom or in person while maintaining social distancing. One upside is that zoom will give us an opportunity to have speakers that are not local. Is there anything in particular that your chapter has done or put into practice in the past that increased the membership for your chapter?

    Stay safe,

    Ben Boardman
