    Good morning everyone,
This is my first posting within this community. I joined because I believe that members have a keen interest in bringing sustainable planning and design practices to the civil engineering profession.  That quest would benefit from a greater focus on the role economic assessments are playing in making Triple Bottom Line based business cases for infrastructure and building projects.  I am talking about measuring the financial/economic, social and environmental returns on investment associated with project solutions.  Triple Bottom Line Cost Benefit Analysis includes a combination of cost benefit + life cycle cost + sustainable return on investment analysis = comprehensive business cases with results by stakeholder group.  For those of you attending the upcoming ICIS event in NYC, there will be lots of discussion of how civil engineers from major cities, utilities, and AEC firms are applying TBL CBA on behalf of their projects (see paper attached).

    Eager to discuss further,
    John Williams
