The Wisconsin Section's Southeast Branch has developed a scholarship application process that integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) criteria, encouraging applicants from three student chapters to highlight their contributions to DEI in civil engineering. This initiative involved educating the Board of Directors on DEI concepts and revising the application to include DEI-focused questions, resulting in a significant 150% increase in scholarship applications from 2020 to 2021. The Southeast Branch is committed to continuing this approach in future applications and aims to promote these opportunities among students.
