Jun 10, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (ET)

Description

Please join us for this special edition of Thursdays @ 3. This panel will discuss the civil systems that make up civil engineering: the people. We will discuss why racism in this country is something that everyone needs to be working to eliminate; and how people can start that healing process and improve society.

On June 10, we’ll discuss  "Engineering a Culture of Inclusion in the Face of Injustice." Bring your questions.

Panelists:
- Quincy Alexander, M.ASCE, Research Civil Engineer at US Army Engineer Research and Development Center.

- Andrea Casalboni, M.S., E.I.T., Co-founder at FEDI Srl, Studio Design Manager at Barry's

- Yvette E. Pearson, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, Associate Dean for Accreditation, Assessment and Strategic Initiatives at Rice University in Houston.

- Feniosky Peña-Mora, Sc.D., P.E., M.ASCE, Edwin Howard Armstrong Professor of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, Columbia University

- Bobbie Shields, P.E., M.ASCE, Owner and Manager, SHIELB PLLC.

You will receive the meeting details after you register for the event. Please show up in a timely manner so we can get the most out of this call.

We have set some ground rules to ensure this is a great experience for all.

- Participants are asked to mute their device unless they are speaking.

- Please keep all conversations geared towards the benefit of the community. Personal requests (such as how do I find a job) will not be discussed.

- Please be as concise as possible so all may get a turn to participate.

- Moderators reserve the right to permanently mute a participant.

- Just a reminder— all questions and comments must comply with the ASCE Collaborate Code of Conduct.

We will be recording and sharing this call.

If you cannot make it this time, we'll be hosting one every week in April. You can view recordings here
