Application of Climate Change Adaptation Prioritization Framework(s) - PAID

This third webinar in a three-part series will explore the 2021 ASCE publication, “The Impacts of Future Weather and Climate Extremes on United States’ Infrastructure: Assessing and Prioritizing Adaptation Actions.” The publication, and the webinar series, explore both the vulnerability of the United States’ infrastructure to current weather and climate extremes and the fragility of these systems in the face of climate change.

This session presents a step-by-step approach to assess resilience options for new and existing infrastructure under constrained budgets. This webinar demonstrates several resilience assessment frameworks to rank asset and system climate adaptation needs over their intended design life. This process enables risk-informed, future-focused planning to prioritize the most vulnerable, fragile or critical components of a project. Resilience strategies are guided by project-specific vulnerability assessments accounting for climate change and interdependent responses to hazards, while maximizing co-benefits across projects.
