What does Climate Change have to do with Engineering and Design? - PAID
share:
This series will explore the 2021 ASCE publication, “The Impacts of Future Weather and Climate Extremes on United States’ Infrastructure: Assessing and Prioritizing Adaptation Actions.” The publication, and the webinar series, explore both the vulnerability of the United States’ infrastructure to current weather and climate extremes and the fragility of these systems in the face of climate change.
This session presents the state of the climate science in the context of how future climate and weather will impact US infrastructure. This webinar will focus on how we relate large-scale climate projections to regional scale; case studies such as extreme event analysis, hurricane projections, drought and flood frequencies, and compound hazards; how potential changes in these events will impact the 21st century built and designed environment.
