I appreciate the informations and discussions that are been passed on this platform. I am civil engineer from Nigeria with experience in reinforce concrete design and construction of related projects. I have Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering and would love to come to America to further my studies and possibly work. How do I go about it and what are the requirements to do this? Best regards from a knowledge seeker.

    Shedrack,

I would recommend you go to the NCEES website and look up what state you may like to work in. The regulations vary from state to state. Coming from another country you may not have taken the FE exam which is normally the first step towards professional licenture. I'm not sure if you are able to take it right away or not. My advice is to contact the licensure board of the state you are seeking to practice in and ask what would be the best procedure is to start getting your professional experience and exams in order to take the PE exam in the coming years.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have further questions.
