Dear Rajat,
As a former active student member, I would say start with the ASCE student chapter at your university and look for any leadership opportunities available.
It may be late to be part of the community as the school year already started, yet, you can always contact them and see what kind of activities they have and how you can be a part of the volunteer group or if they have any competitions you can take part at.
Also notice, the chapter gives back to you what you already gave it. You won't benifit from the events if you don't show up! And you won't meet new students/professionals/academics if you were shy sitting in the background.
Virtually speaking, you have a big big opportunity to seeking the online events that ASCE is sponsoring and you can attend ASCE Convention from where ever you are in the world - p.s students pay less ;) And attend free events as well as the Virtual Round Table that ASCE is hosting each month.
You already did what you did by using ASCE collaboration to talk to ASCE professionals, go ahead and update your profile, have a photo and start speaking for your self here as ASCE Collaborate is one of the most amusing platforms and beneficial as well.
Best of luck and you can always ask us ahead. Use those years as a student wisely.

Subject: How to Utilize Resources for CE Students?
I am a 3rd semester student studying civil engineering. I recently joined ASCE. As a new member, I'm not sure where to start and what contents I consume in order to gain knowledge and add value to myself. Would you kindly consider guiding me on where I should get started. I am excited to learn this profession!
Thankyou!
