    Hi Everyone,
I know during these challenging times, many of us are working more from home. Without the ability to interact with fellow co-workers, I find I need to break up my work day from time to time to stay productive. One way I do this is by taking online Professional Development classes or webinars. I find this a great way to learn new skill sets, keep up to date on latest technologies in my industry, and to help fulfill licensing requirements.

There are many places where you can find Professional Development courses, and I wanted to share some of my favorites, and also see what other resources the community uses.

Here are my favorite Professional Development Resources:
    • Being part of ASCE gives you access to free webinars as part of your membership. There are many great topics for any Civil Engineer.
    • The Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council (TC3) is also a great place to find transportation related topics. Most of these are paid online courses, but there are some free ones as well.
    • For those who are project managers, or are interested in learning about project management, the Project Management Institute (PMI) has great webinars, whether you are a novice or expert project manager. PMI members get access to these webinars as part of their membership.
I am sure that most of you also take part in Professional Development classes or webinars, and I want to know what are your favorite sites or resources for Professional Development?

    Great question!

More bridge specific, but the National Highway Institute/Federal Highway Administration has a bunch of free web-based training on the following website: https://www.nhi.fhwa.dot.gov/home.aspx.  One of the courses was a prerequisite for my CBSI training, but I have found many other of their free trainings helpful including  "General Superstructure Design Considerations". The photo below shows some other trainings available.
