Message from the President

Reading Branch Members, Guests, & Supporters:

I am extremely honored to have your trust and support to serve as the President of the ASCE Reading Branch. I have been active in ASCE for four years now, and would like to think that I have pushed the limits of what student members can do within our organization.

Starting as one of two Freshman Class Representatives in the Villanova University Student Chapter, I learned the value that ASCE's network provides as part of the organizing team for the virtual Region 2 Assembly that was initially planned for Villanova's campus. Over the next few years, I rose in leadership, and suddenly found myself involved at the society level. Most notably, I just completed a year-long term as the President (chairperson) of ASCE's Student Presidential Group (SPG) and was the first student member to officially chair an ASCE committee named in the organization's governing documents. I've now served on more committees, working groups, task committees, and boards within ASCE than I count on two hands, and I've enjoyed it all.

As I begin this new role within the Reading Branch, I am excited to help rebuild, redefine, and reenergize our group. I can't do this alone, and will need new people to step forward and be a part of this journey. I am also grateful for John's leadership the last few years and for his willingness to stay on the Board of Direction of the Reading Branch to advise our work and proposed changes.

In case you haven't already gotten the idea, I bleed ASCE blue and I'm ready to dedicate my time and energy into the Reading Branch!

Thank you! Stay safe!

Sincerely,

Andrew C. Kline, EIT, A.M.ASCE
