Throughout the planning year, you will find additional materials in the toolkit, including:

ASCE will kick off the anniversary on Nov. 5, 2026 (ASCE Day), with major celebrations at ASCE2027, March 1–5, 2027, and the big day on Nov. 5, 2027.

Built to Shine: Illuminating Iconic Infrastructure

ASCE’s 175th anniversary is our opportunity to shine a light on influential infrastructure—literally. A signature program of ASCE’s 175th anniversary, Built to Shine: Illuminating Iconic Infrastructure will honor the visible legacy of civil engineering by illuminating iconic structures around the world in blue on Nov. 5, 2027. In collaboration with ASCE, its partners, and infrastructure owners, members will organize lighting events worldwide, including ceremonies, watch parties, and social media activations. From bridges to buildings, these illuminations will showcase the monumental achievements that shape our communities. Join us in creating a powerful, unified tribute to 175 years of civil engineering excellence.
