I’m interested in ideas for tools to use for STEM outreach to K-12 students, particularly in regards to the fields of Environmental and Water Resources.  ASCE has a lot of good tools, which are more focused on Civil Engineering in general.  Any ideas would be appreciated!

In ASCE National Capital Section, we produced a very nice commemorative book for our Centennial Anniversary. Its a coffee table format, around 130 pages, with the stories behind our major local achievements. It includes lots of rare photos of construction. We provide free copies to the K-12 schools that we visit, and take to other STEM events in the area. We also have nice glossy posters that we hand out with some photos from the book.

This is a link to the book: ASCE NCS Centennial Commemorative Book

UNESCO's first international symposium and policy forum on girls' education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 28 to 30 August2017.

The Symposium will examine girls' disadvantage in STEM studies and careers worldwide, and what the education sector can do to address gender gaps in STEM.

It will provide space to share and discuss the factors that impact on girls' participation and achievement in STEM fields, and good practice worldwide.

The event is organized jointly by UNESCO HQ and UNESCO's Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education.
